Downsizing is no different.  Getting rid of your stuff is just plain hard!  But you have to remember why you want to do it in order to make it successfully to the other side.

This is one of the keys to downsizing.  Constantly reminding yourself of that you are letting go to make space for something better!  You don't want your things to hold you back from creating a life you  love!

Get in the right mindset and focus on why you doing this in the first place.  It will make all the difference.

Create a Downsizing Plan of Attack

To get started downsizing, you need a plan.  You can't just willy nilly pack boxes and put things into storage or get rid of them with out knowing what you will need and what you can live without.

Things to consider:

  • When do you need to have this task completed by?
  • When will you work on this task among all the other things you have to do?

Making a plan of attack and scheduling time to work on your downsizing tasks is the best place to start.  You don't' want to downsize too quickly and live in an empty house but if you drag it out too long, you can lose motivation and get lost in the overwhelm.

A plan will help you know what to do next, and keep you moving forward to the goal of a full-time RV life.
